Patna: The state government is considering setting up a modern and large bus depot in Patna to cater to more inter-district and inter-state buses. Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BUIDCO) has been given the responsibility to select a consultant agency to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for setting up a new integrated bus terminus project at Kanhauli.
The consultant agency, which is likely to be appointed in July, will be given four months to study various aspects of the project and prepare the DPR. Patli Bus Stand which is spread over 50 acres of land has modern facilities like bus terminal, parking bay, arrival and departure area, guest houses, public utilities, commercial areas etc. It will be able to cater more buses than Pataliputra ISBT on Patna Gaya Road.
Managing Director of BUIDCO Dharmendra Singh He said that the bidding process for the selection of the consultant agency has already been started and the preparation of the DPR will start from next month. “The agency will design the bus terminal and other necessary facilities and also plan the bus routes. The proposed Patli Bus Depot will have all modern facilities. The area of the new bus depot is almost double that of Patliputra ISBT. It will be developed at par with a medium-sized airport,” he said.
