Syracuse, NY – A Syracuse-area medical home-calling company will provide free flu shots, coronavirus vaccinations and metabolic testing on Tuesday.

Drakos Clinical Laboratories will offer these services as part of its new medical services division, Mobile Integrated Health Services.

The free event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Draco office at 6333 Route 298, Suite 102, East Syracuse.

Patients can register on site or on the company’s website. 100 patients will participate in the event.

Drakos was founded in 2020. It was originally designed to provide mobile laboratory testing on the sets of Liverpool filmmaker American High.

Drakos is launching a new division, Mobile Integrated Health Services, which will provide care to patients in their homes, via telehealth or at the company’s office.

The new service can help solve non-urgent health problems so patients can avoid long waits in hospital emergency rooms, said Heather Drake, a paramedic and the company’s founder.

The company has several trucks that serve as mobile laboratories. It is staffed by a team of doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, paramedics and other healthcare providers.

Mobile Integrated Health Services does not accept health insurance. By keeping overhead low, the new service can keep costs affordable, Drake said.

The company publishes the prices of the services on its website.

For example, a Covid antigen test costs $40, a Covid PCR test costs $120, and a cholesterol lipid panel blood test costs $49.
