Acer TravelMate P6: A lightweight, durable 14-inch laptop with a 16:10 display | Techy Kings

The Acer TravelMate P6 TMP614P-52 is a portable office laptop aimed at the business segment. The configuration we reviewed costs between 1,600 and 1,700 euros (around US$1,600) and is currently the most expensive model in the line. Unfortunately, despite its hefty price tag, the review unit doesn’t support 5G or LTE. However, there are models with these features.

A Core i7-1185G7 and 16 GB of RAM on board (LPDDR4X-4267, in dual-channel mode, non-expandable) allow the laptop to run office and Internet applications. A fast PCIe 3 SSD with a capacity of 512 GB should provide enough storage for most use cases. Otherwise, the SSD can be replaced as needed. But there are no options to add other storage devices.

Based on our experience with the device, the 56-Wh battery provides 10 to 14 hours of use (screen brightness of approximately 150 cd/m²). At maximum display brightness, the laptop can work for around 9 hours with Wi-Fi enabled on a single charge. The TravelMate comes with a USB-C charger (65 watts), which can be connected to either of the Thunderbolt 4 ports.

The matte IPS display offers a work-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) and excellent contrast, brightness and color reproduction. Color coverage is on par with its competitors. There is also a built-in privacy screen to make it difficult for others to view the display from the side. If you don’t need this feature, you can search for variants without the “P” after “TMP614” in their model number (ie TMP614-52).
