Patna: After being closed for three days, Patna’s parks and Gandhi Maidan will reopen on Monday. Patna Zoo, Patna Museum and Bihar Museum will reopen from Tuesday.
The state government had ordered the closure of all parks for three days in view of the surge in Covid cases and to avoid overcrowding on New Year’s Eve. Boats will also depart in the Ganges from Monday.
Patna DM Chandrasekhar Singh said the state home department’s decision to close parks, Gandhi Maidan and Patna Zoo to avoid overcrowding on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Eve was effective till Sunday. “There was no directive to extend the closure of these places,” he said.
Patna Zoo Range Officer (Botany) Rajesh Chaudhary said, “In view of Covid-19, we are following all safety protocols like thermal screening, mandatory use of masks and hand sanitiser. The zoo will be open to the public from January 4 as it is closed for visitors on Mondays. Patna Museum Curator Shankar Suman said entry of visitors will be allowed from Tuesday, following Covid-19 safety protocols.
