This means that your phone contains a lot of sensitive information, including your UPI ID and bank details. And things can get ugly when you lose your phone or someone steals it.

Although a password is required to unlock your phone or app, these days it can be easy for cybercriminals and thieves to open your phone, especially if you’ve been using easy-to-guess passwords.

In addition, they can read your incoming messages and even answer your calls. So, to be on the safe side, it is imperative to block all payment apps immediately.

Let’s see how to block a few important apps:

GPay

To contact the Google Pay customer support team, dial 1800-419-0157. Then select the option to speak to a Google representative and answer a few questions to get your account blocked.

Paytm

First dial 01204456456 or 18004190157 and select the ‘Report lost or unauthorized use’ option. Then select the Lost Phone option again and enter your lost mobile number to block your account. You can also do this by logging into the Paytm website or by downloading the app on another smartphone if you remember the password.

PhonePe

Dial 08068727374/02268727374 to contact a customer care representative. Provide details such as registered phone number, email address to the customer service agent. mail id and bank name to block the account.

Note: At the same time, call your telecommunication service provider to block the SIM card and stop receiving one-time messages.
