Media Advisory – Queen’s Park News Conference: Hospital staff speak out about serious staffing crisis | Techy Kings

TORONTO, November 1, 2022 /CNW/ – The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO) will hold a press conference at Queen’s Park on Wednesday to discuss the hospital staffing crisis and the solutions available within Ontario’s public health care systems overlooked by the Ford government.

Ontario’s hospitals face severe labor shortages in all occupations, from laboratory technologists to physical therapists to cardiovascular perfusionists. The union is calling on the Ford government to take immediate action within the public hospital system to address the mass exodus of hospital staff, reduce long waiting times and prevent emergency department closures, rather than creating a two-tier healthcare system that would only worsen staffing shortages and patient outcomes.

OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice President/Treasurer Laurie Nancekivell, OPSEU/SEFPO Hospital Professionals Division Chair Sara Labelle, and NDP Health Critic and MPP for Nickel Belt France GĂ©linas, will be available to speak to the media.
