Elected officials and local business leaders joined M&T executives

EAST HARTFORD, Cont., Oct. 24 2022 /PRNewswire/ — M&T Bank officially opened a new Multicultural Banking Center at East Hartford last week on October 18. The branch joins more than 100 such centers already across the M&T footprint, part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to provide a distinctive M&T experience shaped by customer preferences and perspectives in a culturally diverse community.

The M&T Multicultural Banking Center aims to serve as a community hub where customers can receive banking services in the language of their choice and with an understanding of their culture. The center creates opportunities for businesses, nonprofits and community members to attend networking events, financial literacy classes, collaborate on community projects and more.

The East Hartford branches employ bilingual, Spanish and English bankers hired from within the surrounding community. M&T offers a 10% bilingual premium salary to employees who have successfully passed their fluency assessment.

The new 2,750 square foot banking center is located at 957 Main St in East Hartford. The branch is full-service, offering a complete range of consumer and business deposit and loan products, including residential mortgages. The East Hartford the location also has a drive-thru cashier and ATM service.
