Omega Seiki introduces electric tricycle mobile kitchen business | Techy Kings

Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) on Wednesday announced its foray into the mobile kitchen business with the launch of the Meals on Wheels e-three-wheeler.

The company said that as part of this business, it will provide fully equipped mobile kitchen electric vehicles to start the food truck business immediately.

“We have already received interest from more than 500 customers at Meals on Wheels (MOV). Our new offering will change the face of the food truck business. The mobile kitchen business in India has huge potential as it is in its nascent stage. It is estimated to be growing at 8.4% annually in India,” said Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman, OSM.

OSM said its dealerships have already started booking the vehicles, which can be done at an initial price of Rs 19,999.

The Meals on Wheels EV, which comes with fast and fixed batteries, is priced at Rs 7,000 (ex-showroom Delhi and subsidy thereafter), the report said.

However, the delivery of the vehicles will start from January next year.

The company said it has also launched a mobile kitchen incubator and employment program for Tier II and III regions to train aspiring entrepreneurs in the use of such vehicles.

“The aim of the program is to help aspiring entrepreneurs learn about the business and acquire the skills needed to operate and own a mobile kitchen electric vehicle,” Narang added.
