Acer Aspire 1 laptops were awarded to all Pivotal graduating seniors at an event last week. Additional laptops have been donated to Pivotal’s Emergency Assistance Fund.

San Jose, California, May 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – PlanITROI and the Digital Dream Project partnered with Acer to donate 100 Aspire 1 laptops to Pivotal, Silicon Valley’s only non-profit organization focused exclusively on the educational and career needs of foster youth. On the occasion of the celebration May 19 in Santa Clara The Digital Dreams Project at Roosevelt Community Center provided all Pivotal graduating seniors with Acer Aspire 1 laptops. More laptops were donated to Pivotal, a 2020 initiative to provide immediate financial support to youth affected by Covid-19.

This donation supports Pivotal’s mission to help foster youth reach their educational and career goals and transform their lifestyles. Through one-on-one coaching, college scholarships, academic tutoring, paid summer internships and professional development workshops, Pivotal Scholars are 25 percent more likely to graduate high school and 10 times more likely to graduate college than their foster youth peers.

Aspire 1 laptops with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office provide Pivotal graduates with the latest tools they need to pursue higher education and careers. These laptops are especially needed during this transition period when most students lose access to the systems they borrowed from their high school. In addition, the Aspire 1 laptops donated to the Emergency Assistance Fund will help other Pivotal Scholars struggling to access the technology they need to succeed academically.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Acer in providing these graduating seniors with life-changing laptops,” he said. Paul Baum“We are committed to creating a more digitally inclusive world where all children can unlock access to education, achieve their full potential and dream without limits,” said PlanITROI CEO.

“We are very excited about the partnership with the Digital Dreams Project to provide Acer laptops to our graduates,” said Dazamine Maldonado, High School Coaching Supervisor at Pivotal. “Certainly before, but even more so after the pandemic, the need for good technology at home is critical for college students. It’s amazing that we can send our graduates off to the next chapter of their education with secure laptops and one less thing for our young people to worry about.”

“Acer has worked with Pivotal for many years and is impressed with the way they support young Silicon Valley adopters through coaching, mentoring and professional development,” he said. Richard Black, Acer’s vice president of marketing. “The Digital Dreams Project is committed to overcoming the digital divide, and we’re excited to partner with this great organization to make Acer laptops to help Pivotal Scholars on their academic and professional journeys.”
