Dabang Delhi KC, Telugu Titans and Jaipur Pink Panthers won a triple header in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Dabang Delhi KC secured a much-needed 30-27 win over Patna Pirates. In a game of defenders who were at the center from both sides, Delhi’s Vishal and Amit Hooda scored 5 tackle points each, while Patna’s Mohammad Raza Shadloi Chania had the most tackle points in a single game in the history of the tournament ( 16 points) set a record.
Spurred on by their home fans, Telugu Titans produced a brilliant performance to beat U Mumba 32-26 and end their 12-match losing streak. Siddharth Desai was the star of the home side with 9 points in the match.
In the first match of the evening, Jaipur Pink Panthers produced a clinical performance to defeat UP Yudhas 42-29. Arjun Deshwaal emerged as the man-of-the-match for the Pink Panthers with 19 points.
Vijay Malik scored some raid points in the 7th minute as Dabang Delhi KC lead 9-3. Pirates were on the verge of being all out, but they tackled Naveen Kumar and were safe. Delhi had more chances to go all out, but Ranjit Naik in the raiding department and Muhammad Raza Shadloi Chiania in defense stopped them.
The Pirates made a super tackle in the 16th minute and came within touching distance of Delhi’s score at 10-12. It was difficult for Naveen to break down the opponent’s defence, but the capital team managed to stay in the lead at 14-12.
The Pirates tied the score at 14-14 in the 24th minute. Neeraj Kumar and Chianya made a super tackle in the 27th minute to help their team lead 17-16. The defensive duo made another super tackle soon after as the Pirates continued to push forward.
However, Delhi’s defense was also in top form and did not allow the Pirates to take a big lead. But, Neeraj and Chiania kept up the tackles and helped the Pirates lead at 21-19 in the 33rd minute. The Delhi team finally managed to go all out in the 34th minute and took the lead at 23-22.
Dabang Delhi’s C defense unit made some brilliant tackles to help their team extend their lead to 27-23 in the 37th minute. Chania and Galia scored raid points in the last few minutes of the match, but Delhi’s Rader Malik ensured that his team walked off the mat as match winners.
